This is our School
Hayfield School is a county co-educational, day special school for pupils with moderate learning difficulties. Within the school there is also provision for pupils who experience difficulties in social communication.
Hayfield is a primary school providing for children aged 4-11 years and is located on Manor Drive, Upton.
The most recent Ofsted Inspection, in March 2008,described the school as "OUTSTANDING."
The Ofsted report stated: "This is an outstandingly effective school. Parents rate it very highly and credit the staff with helping their children grow in confidence by providing so well for pupils' emotional, social and academic needs. Pupils blossom into very mature, caring and considerate young citizens."
All children at Hayfield have a statement of special educational need as determined by the Local Education Authority.
We welcome parents and carers to make an informal visit to the school in order to get a good impression of the school, its philosphy and approaches before the final decision about placement is made. Please contact us to arrange a visit if you feel that the school could meet the needs of your child and you are interested in finding out more about the school.
Sensory in Hayfield
Last year, we were delighted to be successful in our applicaton for funding to MBNA and were able to purchase new sensory equipment.
With the grant from MBNA we were able to purchase a new mini-trampoline, a new parachute, a bike, rower and mini-rider for cardiovascular activity and a wonderful fibre-optic panel for the sensory room. We are very grateful for this funding and hope to access more external funds to continue to increase our resources.
